Musicology Annotation << Back A Four-Dimensional Model of the Performing Competence of a Wind Instrument Performer: Auto-Psychological Segment Deliy Pavel One of the reasons provoking the stagnation of Russian brass performance and making it difficult to integrate it into the new pedagogical reality of a competence-based approach is the lack of a methodological basis for developing a competence model for a specialist in this field of art, without which competence-based education cannot be realized. The author of the article suggests the subject-object analysis of the performing process as such a basis, which is considered as a central, system-forming element of the professional activity of a spiritual teacher. The willingness to carry out the performing process in the context of professional activity forms the personal quality of a professional – performing competence, which refl ects the specifics of the activity in which it manifests itself. Thus, in the complex of subject-object relations that make up the structure of the performing process, musical material is found as an independent object. The reproduction of musical material is associated with the emergence of the phenomenon of musical interpretation, which has repeatedly become the object of scientific research in various fi elds of musical art. However, the specifics of the interpretive component of the performance activity of an orchestral brass player, associated with the performance of an orchestral part in the context of collective interpretation of an orchestral composition, remained outside the fi eld of scientific study. It is obvious that the specific features of interpretation in the context of orchestral work are refl ected in the performing competence of orchestral brass players and require its separate and comprehensive study.
