Musicology Annotation << Back Competency-Based Approach to Teaching Tuba Students at the University Musin Firgat The article is devoted to the problems of mastering the basic competencies by tuba students of higher educational institutions. The main directions of relevant musical training are considered as a combination of theoretical and practical knowledge within the framework of a holistic pedagogical process. The most relevant pedagogical tasks are singled out, oriented both to the musical and personal development of students in accordance with the competence-based approach. The article pays special attention to the specifi cs of the performing skills developed by tuba students and the corresponding requirements for the formation of students' competencies. Based on the competency-based approach, a strategic program for improving the education of tubist students in universities is proposed and further prospects for their professional training in modern conditions are outlined. Particular attention is paid to the further differentiation of musical education in teaching to play the tuba and the development of an appropriate methodological framework for the educational process.
