«Super Dictation» in Solfeggio Classes at the University |
Lokotyanova Diana E.
Musical dictation is one of the most important, responsible and complex forms of work in solfeggio classes. Dictation is a kind of outcome of the entire learning process, since it is in dictation that the student must show, on the one hand, the level of development of musical memory, thinking, and all types of musical hearing, and on the other hand, certain theoretical knowledge that helps him to correctly record what he has heard. A unique skill in the list of skills acquired as a result of working on dictation is the ability to select works of varying degrees of complexity by ear – from chamber ensembles to orchestral scores. Such a skill, in our opinion, is extremely rapidly acquired while working in solfeggio classes on a complete musical dictation (or "super dictation" - Diana Lokotyanova).
In this article, the author examines the issues of the place and role of super-dictation in classes on the discipline "solfeggio" at a music university. The author offers an algorithm of actions for a solfegist teacher in working on a complete musical dictation. The relevance of this study is determined by the fact that this type of musical dictation meets the main issues of modern educational activity, including practical orientation.
Keywords: solfeggio, musical dictation, development of musical hearing, total dictation, music school, military conductor.
