The article is devoted to the creative activities of the students of the founder of the Moscow violin school Ferdinand Laub (1832—1875), who continued his tradition in various cities of Russia. V.F. Odoyevsky described Laub as an exceptional artist, whose skill was the basis for a «new, real school of violin». V. Villuan, A. Arends, E. Vonsovskaya and A. Litvinov became the guides of this school in Voronezh, Kazan, Kiev, Kislovodsk Kursk, Nizhny Novgorod, Odessa, Orel, Penza, Kharkov, Rostov-on-Don. They solved the problems of education and enlightenment, combining various types of solo and ensemble performance, conducting, teaching several special (violin, chamber ensemble, quartet) and theoretical disciplines, composing, organizing and leading activities. The musicians who arrived in provincial cities to work within the newly opened branches of the IRMO faced a diffi cult task - to unite all the «components» of culture into a single system. It was necessary to create a creative fi eld of art, to attract various segments of the population to participate in the cultural life of the city, to help talented people acquire a profession. Thanks to Laub’s pupils, branches of the mighty tree of his school, based on the idea of a deeply meaningful and meaningful interpretation of the best examples of the classical repertoire, have grown in various regions of our country.
