Musicology Annotation << Back Topology of Musical Image and Discretion of Thinking Stachinsky Vladimir I. This article discusses the possibility of applying the concept of "topology" in relation to a musical image, which implies its mobility with a given immutability. The topology of the musical image depends on the totality of continuum and discrete processes in the mind of the listener. The artistic image generated by the creative act with rational discrete selection fills the recipient’s mind with continuum tissue, allowing one or another "error" in accordance with the aesthetic maturity of his personality. Therefore, the relief and stability of the musical image directly depends on the persuasiveness of the means of its formation, and the ability to experience it depends on the spiritual potential of the listener. Based on interdisciplinary research, the author of the article is looking for evidence of the presence of discreteness in the stable imprinting of figurative-emotional experience.
