Musicology Annotation << Back The role of the concertmaster in the preparation of the opera Shadt Kristina V. Musical high schools of our country do not pay enough attention to opera concertmaster`s training at the moment. Young musicians frequently graduated from Conservatoire start their professional career having mild idea of future task they are to face as opera concertmasters. This article regards basic steps and methods of opera concertmaster’s job, reveals competences and a list of issues in collaboration with singers. The author expects that a precise concept of upcoming tasks would help to improve curriculums of "Concertmaster’s skill" and "Concertmaster class" disciplines in purpose of opera concertmaster’s training upgrade.
