Viennese Discovery: On the Question of the 18th century Musical Rossica in The National Library of Austria |
Malinina G.M.
The archives and libraries of Europe store a number of manuscripts which contain music written by Russian composers. Very often the text of these scores is unknown to Russian scientists and performers. In particular, The National Library of Austria keeps the manuscript which presents the sacred choir «Te Deum laudamus» by Maxim Berezovsky. This score was considered to be lost until present time, however the Austrian source provides a unique possibility to get acquainted with another masterpiece by the Russian composer of the 18th century.
Key words: Berezovsky, The National Library of Austria, musical rossica.
