Musicology Annotation << Back We hear the polyphony of a lute, It is the voice of guitar through time… Guryanova L.V. The paper is concernes with polyphony in the 16th–18th century music for lute and its consideration in the context of historical development of classical guitar. Digression to creativity of the leading lute masters in Spain, England, France and Germany, as well as the analysis of the compositions within the limits of the given theme allow to define the importance and role of polyphonic re­pertoire in centuries-old movement of a classical six-string guitar in the area of its full recognition as an academic musical instrument.
