Commemorating the Centenary of Valentina Konen (July 29/August 11, 1909, Baku – December 8, 1991, Moscow) Saponov M.A. The introductory article accompanies the publication of ten letters by Valentina Konen (the famous Russian music historian, educated in 1921 – 1931 in USA and later, in the 1930s – at the Moscow Conservatory), addressed in 1979–1986 to her young colleague, now Prof. Dr. Mikhail Saponov, of the same conservatory.
