Musicology Annotation << Back Motives of Jugendstil Iconography in Austrian and German Operas in the Early 20th Century Degtyareva N.I. In the article there are considered such typical for Jugendstil iconography motives-symbols as dance, kiss, reflection/mirror, island, garden. Their realization in operas by Austrian and German composers in the early 20th century is studied by the author. In the centre of our attention there are both interpretation of these motives and semantic parallels between an opera and other works of art and literatures of this epoch.
