Musicology Annotation << Back The Vocal Aspects of Peking Opera Budaeva T.B. Peking opera which is called in Chinese jingju includes a lot of different kinds of arts – among them are poetry, amazing acrobatics, circus and actor art, glowing grease-paint and costumes, scenery and the music which leads everything in this incredible real show. Whereas a European audience watches the Peking opera, a Chinese audience listens to it. The difference appears because of the specifics of its music, which are foreign to a western ear.
