Bourgeois – Concert for Trombone (1989), as an Example of the Development of Neoclassical and Neo-Romantic Trends in the Genre of Instrumental Concert of the XX Century Abramov Oleg The article is devoted to a concert by the English composer Derek Bourgeois written in the vein of neoclassical and neo-romantic trends. The first refers, for example, to the general composition of the concert, and refers to the classical tradition of the instrumental concert-competition, including the distribution of roles between the soloist and the orchestra. The significance of the Bourgeois Concert is enormous: it is one of the largest trombone concerts of the second half of the twentieth century, which stood at the beginning of a wave of new compositions in this genre, different in technique and content. Concerto for trombone op. 114 – not the only composition for this instrument in the panorama of Bourgeois; he made a significant contribution to the trombone repertoire. The article considers issues of content and form, with a noticeable influence as musical classics, including Mozart and the romantic Wagner, Bruckner and Borodin. The article can have wide practical application in the field of musical science and in the field of more reliable interpretation and performance of the concert of D. Bourgeois.
