Musicology Annotation << Back Imaginative Worlds of Beethoven's Piano Music Demchenko Alexander The essence of this article is entirely focused on the analysis of the content and semantic essence of the piano work of the great composer. The core of the presentation is the basic essence of human existence (life activity, lyrics, relaxation) and what determines the leading constants of Beethoven's attitude to the world (heroic, drama, epic) implemented in Beethoven's works. The pathos of the proposed material consists, in particular, in the affi rmation of the idea of an inspired embodiment not only of what sums up the heroic-dramatic epos, the key concept for the composer's work, but also of any other life manifestations of the individual. The introductory section of the article gives an insight into the historical era (including a comparison of the composer's personality with such prominent figures of his time as Napoleon, Hegel and Goethe), and the final section gives some fi nal generalizations (including the stylistic forecasts declared by Beethoven).
