100 Years of the Great Work |
Devutsky Vladislav
Exactly 100 years have passed since the creation of the Sixth Symphony by Nikolai Myaskovsky – one of the seven most important universal
mysteries that were created by great composers over the past 300 years.
The symphony tells about the tragic fate and tragic destiny of a person who keenly perceives the world during the collapse of history
(revolutions, coups, civil wars).
A system of musical and semantic components (quotations, symbols, intonation-thematic signs and allusions) is traced, with the help of which
a grandiose musical and historical fresco is created.
It is shown that the four-part symphonic cycle, which looks outwardly traditional in Myaskovsky's plan, has been transformed into a multisegment plot form developing according to the laws of a theatrical work.
Keywords: Myaskovsky's Sixth Symphony, universal mystery.
