Musicology Annotation << Back Arrangements of Dombra Kuis in the Kazakh Piano Repertoire Almakhanova Elmira D. The article discusses the ways of development of the Kazakh piano repertoire and its replenishment with works created on the basis of treatments of dombra cuis. The purpose of the work is to consider the specifics of the use of cuys in the piano compositions of composers of Kazakhstan of the XX century. The article pays special attention to Nagym Mendygaliyev’s piano poem "The Legend of the Dombra", which is recognized as his best work, included in the repertoire of both Kazakhstani and foreign performers.
