Musicology Annotation << Back Factors and Сomponents of the Revival of the Modern Melodious Reading of the Qur’an Among the Ural-Volga Turks (Muslim Tatars and Bashkirs) Imamutdinova Zilia A. For the fi rst time, the article covers the processes of reviving the practice of reading the Qur’an. Attention is focused on the most important components of the religious life of modern Muslim Tatars and Bashkirs. It largely determines the direction of the stylistic evolution of the tradition of reciting sacred texts. From this point of view, the special importance of the practice of Hajj and the organization of competitions for reading the Qur’an are emphasized. The data available to modern historical and religious studies, materials of the author's many years of field research are used.
