Musicology Annotation << Back Music in the Art World of Leonid Andreev. To the 150th Anniversary of the Writer Yudina Vera I. Leonid Andreev entered the history of Russian culture of the late XIX–early XX centuries as a bright novelist, author of numerous prose works that captured a characteristic complex of mindsets of his time, a playwright – a reformer who created the theory of a new panpsychic drama. Andreev’s personality was distinguished by a variety of artistic interests. In addition to literature and theater, he was fond of painting, photography, cinema. This article updated the role of music in the art world of the writer. On the example of his articles on Fedor Chaliapin, as well as the main theoretical work "Letters about the Theater," on the panpsyche theory he developed, Andreev's attitude to music is analyzed, the role of musical art in the drama system of a new type is revealed.
