Musicology Annotation << Back Medtner’s Creative Formation as a Composer: Under the Guidance of S.I. Taneev Koval Darya A. This article based on archival materials deals with the list of N.K. Medtner’s art professors of the junior and senior faculties of the Moscow Conservatory. It is well known that Nikolai Karlovich was an educated pianist; moreover, he was studying optionally the program of a special theory of music. Particular attention is paid to the figure of Taneev as a professor who taught Medtner contrapoint, forms and fugue. Also, unknown and obscure historical documents connected with Medtner’s education are considered. The importance of the steps of classes with S.I. Taneev and N.K. Medtner, a young composer, is shown.
