Musicology Annotation << Back Fundamental Dissimilarity of the Semantic Perception of Music by Amateurs and Professionals. Potential Convergence Predictions Devutsky Vladislav E. The article attempts to reconstruct the perceptual properties of the average music lover in comparison with the semanticized analytical perception of music by a specialist of the average music lover in comparison with the semantised analytical perception of music by a specialist is undertaken. The entire volume of musical compositions is stratified into groups: 1) with an expanded systemically motivated content program (both announced and hidden); 2) having semantic components in a generalized and logically folded form; 3) do not pretend to possess any semantically significant components. This bundle can also be presented under the headings: «masterpieces»; «good popular music»; «common, ambient, entertainment music». There are given examples of indisputable masterpieces and good popular music, equally favorably accepted by both the general public and specialists, but concealing a deep difference in their artistic and meaningful world outlook. The level of semantic weight (high, low) does not directly affect the emotional-figurative response of a music lover. Nevertheless, an adequate analytically accurate decoding of musical content in the practice of a professional: performer, musicologist, teacher – is most important for increasing of the aesthetic response among the listeners.
