Musicology Annotation << Back Cantata «Gottes ist der Orient» Frangiz Alizadeh: Substantive and Structural Aspects Mammadova Leyla M. The article deals with a substantive analysis of the cantata of the famous Azerbaijani composer Frangiz Alizadeh “Gottes ist der Orient”. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the approach to the study of this musical work not only from the point of view of musicological analysis, but also from the point of view of the importance of such works of art today, where their features and common points of contact are revealed from the perspective of the interaction of the cultures of the East and West. The aim of the study is to reveal the original author’s concept based on the dialogues of poets – the great German poet and philosopher Goethe – on the one hand, and four outstanding Azerbaijani poets and thinkers on the other – Khagani, Khatai, Mirza Shafi Vazekh and Nizami. The analysis of the musical material of the cantata gives an idea not only of the composer’s skill of F. Alizade, but also of the current state of the choral music of Azerbaijan.
