Musicology Annotation << Back Songs in fairy tales. To the question of the interaction of verbal and musical genres Kislova Oksana N. The article deals with the text and musical basis of songs in Russian folk children’s tales. The emphasis is placed on the aspects of the intersection of verbal and musical genres in the context of fairy-tale stories of various types – about animals and inanimate objects, about people. For research, the author takes well-known cumulative, magic tales about wizards and transformations, Dialogic and fairy tales-anecdotes (according to the classifi cation of Stith Thompson). The paper uses methods of comparative, empirical and theoretical analyses. First studied music and verse basis of songs from fairy tales; infl uence on composition of songs, drama, poetry and language levels of the artistic whole (content and form). The infl uence of other song genres on various types of fairy-tale songs is revealed: songs-monologues participating in the exposition of images, songs-addresses and their imitations addressed to other characters, songs with magical and parodic features. In fairy tales with songs, multiple interaction of verbal and verbal-musical genres is revealed. Songs fi nd their place in fairy tales about animals and inanimate objects in order to endow them with one of the main human characteristics – speech, they are found in magic, satirical anticlerical tales and fairy tales-anecdotes. In the compositional aspect, songs within the text are a formative factor; in the dramatic aspect, they strengthen the episodes of the hero’s exit, emphasize the confl ict, dramatic scenes and climaxes; in the poetical aspect, they complement the fairy – tale narrative with imagery. The songs contain the main ideas related to images and their manifestos. Fairy tales with songs are a synthetic genre that combines narrative speech, recitation, singing, and role-playing.
