Musicology Annotation << Back On the study of the problem of the interaction of the vocal and instrumental foundations in ethnic music of the finno-ugric peoples Kosyreva Svetlana V. The article continues the study of the current issue of ethnomusicology – the interaction of the vocal and instrumental foundations in ethnic music. An analytical review of the subject is presented in the context of the Finno-Ugric ethno-musical cultures. The research revealed that at the present time there are few independent observations on the problems of interaction of the vocal and instrumental performance. A very small part is provided by special studies. In general, the review of the main sources on the subject showed a variety of research directions; they relate to the problems of sound formation, articulation / vocal articulation of the instrumental type, the specifics of intonation and timbre; the identification of the interaction forms between instrumental and vocal music, which includes the repertoire level; the influence of traditional instrumental polyphony on the formation of vocal polyphony. One of the cognitively substantive issues in studying the problem of the interaction of vocal and instrumental principles relates to folk terminology.
