Musicology Annotation << Back Atheistic subject in the soviet music Anatoly V. Budanov, Andrey M. Lesovichenko Article is devoted to a subject, relevant for the Soviet period of domestic music, which, strangely enough, is a little developed in musical and historical researches. It is shown that the atheism was a factor, at the offi cial level defi ning orientation of art creativity, however almost not received considerable comments in art. Extent of integration of an atheistic subject into musical theater, the fi lm industry and literature is considered. Separately the value of the atheistic direction understands song and choral heritage of the 20-30th years. It is noted that in music this perspective in general was a rarity. Nevertheless, a quantity of composers have made here a contribution which can be considered as art value. It is obvious that atheistic music, in literal sense, doesn`t exist. Most of composers in Soviet period tried not to show any relation to religion, without supporting, but also without condemning it. However it is possible to speak about a certain number of the program works anyway tied to an atheistic subject. Atheistic installation as expression of denial of God, hasn`t generated a little steady tradition. It is indicative that in ideological works on atheism, generally it is about methods of use of monuments of religious art (or works on religious subjects), but not about works of atheistic contents.
