Musicology Annotation << Back Contemporary melodics' peculiarities in the creation of R. Ledenyov Elena V. Fedyanina The problem of melodics is one of the most important questions of musicology. Nowadays melodics has changed a lot as well as the other elements of musical language. Leading musicologists mention such characteristics of modern melodics as polymelodism, linear-melodically coverage of large structures, instrumentalization. This article is devoted to research of contemporary melodics peculiarities in the creation of Roman Semyonovich Ledenyov, the recognized melodist of our times. The composer’s creation presents works of various genres. Among them the epic poem «Song of Igor’s Campaign», the ballet «Tale about Green Spheres», the symphony «Russia the Green and Snow-White», instrumental concertos with orchestra, including the Concert Fantasia for Violin and Orchestra «Something the Unclear...», works for chamber ensembles, piano and other instruments. Choral music takes an important place, especially choral cycles, among them «The Seasons» for two choirs and instrumental ensemble, «Bunin’s Triptych», «Klyuev’s Triptych» and many others. Identity and originality of composer’s style, the enigma of his creation are defi ned considerably by melodics phenomenon, some features of which can be revealed only with introduction of new terms. At the same time the composer’s style is connected to a large extent with traditions of Russian music art, with development of «expanded melodism», which is characteristic for creation of S. Rachmaninov, S. Prokofi ev, G. Sviridov. These and some other questions of contemporary melodics are considered in the present article. Many serious researches have been devoted to the music of R. Ledenyov, however, they do not contain special study of melodics, which composer consider the most important element of music language. This emphasize the relevance of this research. We shall note that questions of melodics are also refl ected in literary works of R. Ledenyov, what allow more concrete approach to this problem. Keywords: R.
