Musicology Annotation << Back Shostakovich and Babel Anna A. Zondereger The paper entightens the history of personal contacts between D.D. Shostakovich and I.E. Babel, the evidences of their mutual interest and inclination to each other. Some parallels between the artists, the attitudes based on a generality, and also an example of influence of the writer on the composer come to light. The selected research perspective has allowed the author to bring specifications in Shostakovich’s biography and in some settled conceptions concerning the evolution of his art.
