Musicology Annotation << Back Bulgarian Chant in Church Vocal Practice in Russia in the 17th — 18th Centuries Maria G. Larina The article is devoted to Bulgarian chant (bolgarskiy raspev) — the late monophonic tradition of Russian church music of the 17th — 18th centuries. The author investigates the problems of the attribution of the Bulgarian chant’s melodies and their transplantation from Ukrainian-Belarusian staff-notated Heirmologions (Irmologiony) into Russian church-vocal practice.
