Musicology Annotation << Back Typewriter for Composer: On the Archeology of Handdrawn Sound Krivulya N.G. The article is devoted to the specific opticacoustic technologies which have appeared in the end of 1920s in connection with the creation of sound film. One of them was the technology of handdrawn or synthetic sound. Researchers and animators in England, Germany and the Soviet Union were engaged in experiments in the field of creation of handdrawn sound in late 1920s or early 1930s. The German inventor and animator Rudolf Pfenninger was one of the first who synthesized sound, having created a new method of record of music.
