Musicology Annotation << Back Professional and Non-professional in Oral Music Traditions of the Ural-Volga Muslims Imamutdinova Z.A. The paper focuses on the notions “professional” and “unprofessional” that are spread on the oral music culture of Muslims, including Ural-Volga ones (Tatars and Bashkirs). The origins and specificity of professionalism are revealed in the Qur’an reading tradition and music folklore of the Muslim-Turkics.
