Fedorovskaya In the article, some features and functions of the West European music-rhetorical figures anabasis and catabasis in the Russian choral concertos have shown. These figures are strengthening the expressiveness of text, creating the visual associations of moving up and down, interpreting the ideas and images and promote the structure of concertos.
