From the Historical Archive of the Moscow Violin School (to the 160th Anniversary of the Violin Classes of the MO RMO) |
Safonova Elena L.
The relevance of this study and its scientific novelty are determined by the need to collect and analyze sources containing information about K. Klamrot, V. Bezekirsky, L. Minkus and G. Schradik, teachers of the violin classes of the Moscow branch of the Russian Musical Society, which existed from autumn 1863 to September 1866. During this period, the activities of these musicians, widely known in the 19th century, were focused on preparing a contingent of students for the Moscow Conservatory and in many ways contributed to the emergence of its violin tradition.
The purpose of the article is to characterize the creative heritage of the masters who stood at the origins of the formation of the Moscow school based on the study of available materials (memoirs, historical and literary works, musical texts of violin works and transcriptions, performing and pedagogical editions). Being a signifi cant part of its richest historical archive, most of these sources in performing and pedagogical practice have not received a worthy application; specific research on the topic has not been carried out.
The hypothesis of the study is to substantiate the need to revive the lost (since the second half of the last century) professional interest in a small in volume, but very valuable in theoretical and practical sense, layer of national culture.
Keywords: Russian violin pedagogy of the 19th century, Moscow violin school, K. Klamroth, V. Bezekirsky, L. Minkus, G. Shradik, violin classes of the Moscow branch of the RMS.
