Musicology Annotation << Back The Experience of Interpreting the Figurative Content of Symphonic Compositions on the Example of A. Beloborodov’s Third Symphony Stachinsky Vladimir I. The formation of artistic imagery of music depends on the programmatic idea expressed in the title of the work or its parts, on visual effects in the instrumentation and textural presentation, designed to capture specific events in the dramaturgy of the plot, on the appeal to epic themes and author's comments on them. The composer’s choice of special orchestral colors of the symphonic palette and an original approach to shaping, as in Alexander Beloborodov's Third Symphony, with the use of complex mirror reflection schemes in the sonata-symphony cycle and the parallel intervention of polyphonic thinking using fugato, canons, oppositions in the subvocal texture, determines the individual composer's handwriting, which directly affects the perception of music. The reflection of the figurative-associative space in the program of the author’s intention with the help of compositional techniques that form its direction becomes the main event of the listener’s concert experience. At the same time, the performer becomes a necessary intermediary in achieving the figurative persuasiveness of the author’s content for the listener.
