Musicology Annotation << Back Problems of Development of Professional Vocal Education in Modern China Liu Bailing The training of highly qualifi ed specialists in the fi eld of music pedagogy is multifaceted in its structure and has specifi cs both at the level of higher education and at the level of the nature of vocal creativity. Higher vocal professional education is constantly being reformed in higher educational institutions in China and has reached a certain development. A new stage in the development of the professional system of music education has revealed a number of contradictions that are currently on the agenda of reforming the vocal school in China. The article analyzes the main problems, as a result of which professional vocal education is not able to meet the actual needs of students in development and does not fully meet the social needs and specific standard requirements of the reform of higher music education. Among the problems, the author highlights the problems of educational programs of professional training in vocals; lack of highly qualified teachers; lack of practice during training; passive form of education. To overcome the contradictions under consideration, it is necessary to develop a curriculum plan and strengthen monitoring of students' practical capabilities. In addition, in order to further improve the quality of education, teachers need to effectively use innovative teaching methods, gradually switch to an active type of training.
