Musicology Annotation << Back I.G. Agafonnikov and the Bolshoi Children’s Choir Miroshnichenko Svetlana V. This article, based on archival documents stored in the Museum of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater, tells about the work of Igor Germanovich Agafonnikov with the children's choir of the theater. Materials related to the history of the children's choir of the Bolshoi Theater are presented. It tells about famous graduates of the children's choir of the country's main theater, who later became famous musicians. In particular, excerpts from the memoirs of composer E. Puchkin are published. Igor Germanovich's refl ections on the repertoire policy of the theater, published in 1963, are given. in the large-circulation newspaper of the Bolshoi Theater "Soviet Artist." Information about the inspector of the children's choir of the Bolshoi Theater D. Shelonina, with whom I.G. Agafonnikov worked for many years, is presented. The work of the choirmaster on the production of B. Britten's opera "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is described in detail. The order of the directorate on the approval of the production group and the composition of the opera performers is given. Reviews of the production of the opera by B.A. Pokrovsky, B. Khaikin, A.V. Rybnov are published. It is reported about the attitude to the premiere of the opera by the author – B. Britten.
