Musicology Annotation << Back Inclusion of the Trombone in Performing Practice: Experience of Historical Analysis Starkov Arkadiy V. The purpose of the study is to determine the historical conditions and prerequisites for the inclusion of the trombone in solo performing practice. This article will analyze the main stages in the formation of the trombone as an instrument of solo wind performance. The main modifications and varieties of the trombone will be described, the most outstanding examples of instrument performance over several centuries will be considered. The scientific novelty of the study lies in a comprehensive analysis of the historical features of the development of trombone performance over several centuries. As a result, it is proved that the trombone, as a result of its historical development and evolution, has become one of the sought-after instruments of wind musical culture, the expressive possibilities of which were used by composers in accordance with the aesthetics of their time.
