Timbre-Register Characteristics of the Sound of the Song Folklore of the Verkhneoksky Musical and Ethnographic Tradition |

The article is devoted to the study of the vocal and performing side of the traditional song folklore of the Upper Pooch region. The territorial framework of the study correlates with the settlement of the ancient Slavic tribe Vyatichi, which corresponds to the modern borders of the Oryol, Tula, Kaluga regions and the adjacent areas of the Bryansk and Smolensk regions. The article focuses on identifying the timbre-register characteristics of the sound of ritual and non-ritual song folklore as one of the key elements of the stylistics of the considered musical and ethnographic tradition. The specific vocal techniques of authentic performers of the Verkhneoksky region also include: musical and folklore articulation, dialect phonetics, hooping, ics, glissanding, entrances to the sound and declines to an indefinite height, vocalizations, inserted vowels and syllables, melismatics (forschlags, mordents), flageolet, "fl inching" and "shaking" of the voice.
