Musicology Annotation << Back The Violinist’s Creativity: Towards the Problem of Creating a Performing Interpretatio Safonova Elena L. The article is devoted to one of the key problems of musical performance that arose at a certain historical stage. The peculiarities of creating a performing interpretation by professional violinists are due to the evolution of the type of activity of musicians of different eras (violinist-composer – violinist-composer-interpreter – violinist-interpreter), characteristics of musical texts, specificity of the expressive capabilities of the violin as an instrument. The process of interpretation itself was initially defi ned in two phases: the first is the reading and awareness of musical notes and symbols (the author's semantic code of the work), the second is the embodiment of an artistic idea into sounding matter. The primary source was the nature of the violin: its construction, format, principle of operation. The individual application of the properties of the instrument became the main factor that led to the infinite variety of options for interpreting the author’s meanings. The historical development of the repertoire constantly influences the character of the performing interpretation. The aesthetics and musical language of each era pose new textological, technological and artistic challenges for violinists. At the same time, the most difficult for performers today are the masterpieces of composers of the Baroque and Classicism eras.
