Musicology Annotation << Back Features of notes of musical genre «reng» Ildyrymly Fidan R. The article determines that the systematic recording of traditional music in Azerbaijan, including folk songs and dances, ashug melodies, mugams, tesnifs and rings, began to be recorded already from the 1920s and 30s of the 20th century. It was revealed that in the first decades of the twentieth century, ranks were also used in the works of leading composers for orchestra and choir, in operas and musical comedies. The recording of notes contributed to the development of the mugam genre and folk music in general also at the performing level, the further development of the musical culture of society, the formation of the musical taste and ethnic identity of people. Contributing to the preservation, research and promotion of traditional Azerbaijani music makes theoretical research in this area relevant. This is also the story of the study of mugham works, including musical notation of traditional musical genres and works of composers using elements of folk music. This article will discuss the history of musical notation of the genre of folk music genre. This area of research is important for the formation and development of the history of ethnic music. The rich heritage of traditional Azerbaijani music was created by masters of singing - folk singers - for many centuries and passed down from generation to generation based on oral traditions. The ranks, which were performed both in large and small mugams, as well as in zerb mugams and separately, played an important role in the musical heritage of the people. As a creative product of mugam performers, they were enriched with new shades of musical composition. Consideration of the ranks in musical notation allows us to conclude that a lot of work has been done in this direction. Available publications of mugam’s works with ranks allow improving the skill of performers, raising the level of professional musical creativity and, in general, the level of musical culture.
