Musicology Annotation << Back «Vokal cycle on poems by Ivan Bunin» Boris Lisitsyn (to the problem of the integrity of the form) Umnova Irina G. The article is devoted to the analysis of the vocal cycle of the Russian-American composer Boris Lisitsyn on the poems of Ivan Bunin in the aspect of the integrity of the form of the musical composition. The poetry of the Silver age is firmly rooted in the vocal and choral works of composers of the twentieth century, contributing to the search for supernovae of musical expression, the revival of the stylistic features of Baroque, classicism and romanticism. The original poetic heritage of the Nobel laureate Ivan Bunin is distinguished by the abundance of epithets and comparisons drawn from the samples of Russian folk art. Eternity of nature, philosophical lyrics, harmony of the surrounding world and human in it – this and other subjects find a response in the works of modern musicologists. The vocal cycle for I. Bunin's poems was written by Lisitsyn in 1987 as a student, but even then he demonstrated the young composer's understanding of the intricacies of the chamber vocal genre and the peculiarities of the cyclic form. It is no coincidence that in 2016 at the Open regional competition of composers for the creation of works for poems of outstanding Voronezh poets, supported by the «Union of composers of Russia», for this work B. Lisitsyn was awarded a Diplom of the 1st degree and the title of Laureate.The analysis of the techniques used by the composer, contributing to the unity of the vocal cycle form, is undertaken for the first time.
