Educational and methodical works of the first harp's teachers in the St. Petersburg and Moscow conservatories |

The late XIX and early XX century is a period which characterized by the appearance of the first educational and methodical studies created by conservatories professors in the Russian harp pedagogy history. Such teaching and methodical literature varied greatly both in form and content. This work of the teachers of the harp classes appeared because of professional activity, generalizing as the results of many years’ work. The fi rst professors, the founders of the harp class Albert Zabel (1834–1910) in Petersburg and Ida Eichenwald (1842-1917) in Moscow, approached the creation of their works in different time and form. In 1891, I. Eichenwald created «A training program for the harp class in the Moscow Conservatory», and in 1900 A. Zabel published the «Method for the harp» in Germany. These two works were considered in this researching. The study and comparative analysis of two methodical works conservatory harpists professors allows to reveal their teaching principles, as well as the performing arts traditions. The article deals with issues related to the professor’s biography, as well as the teaching history in the first
conservatories in Russia.
