Musicology Annotation << Back Traditional lyric Songs of the Smolensk Region: Particular Musical Style Oksana V. Chernobaeva The article is devoted to the study of traditional lyric songs of the Smolensk region. In the traditional musical culture of the region lyrical songs is one of the key positions. The widespread existence and the quantitative composition in the repertoire of performers testify to their root status in the local ethnomusicological system along with calendar and wedding song cycles. The article discusses the two subspecies of the genre of lyric songs is seasonally timed and not timed. Their study aimed at establishing the General and specifi c features inherent to each of the subgroups. The main part of the article is devoted to the characteristic features of the music of the songs with the position of the rhythmic and pitch structure. Special attention is paid to the issue of the holistic view of traditional song lyric of the Smolensk region.
