Musicology Annotation << Back Bell art poetics in S. Rakhmaninov's music Alexander S. Yareshko Art of S. Rakhmaninov is deeply national. One of the most important sources of compositor’s music is chime. It became a natural part of Russian national life for artistic consciousness of Rakhmaninov. The famous prelude cis-moll (op. 3) deeply repeats music of bells’ ringing. Semantics of this earlier composition had an infl uence on many compositions of author. Rakhmaninov bases on typifi ed classic forms, at the same time he is a bright innovator. These innovation properties of his music are shown in realization of bells’ ringing. Proofs of this are best compositions of Rakhmaninov.
