Musicology Annotation << Back The Specifics of “the Sensitive Style” of the 18th Century in Germany and Aesthetics of “Empfindsamkeit” Kuleshova A.N. The cult of senses that characterized the 18th century, had its specific in the German culture. The artistic and aesthetic school of “Empfindsamkeit” (“Sensitivity”) with its usual complex of problems and objectives had a significant influence on the development of musical style of pre-classical and classical periods. The aesthetic and stylistic system, that was developed within the school, contained preconditions for the formation of classical symphonic dramaturgy's principles.
